Carlton Redcliffs Club wins NZ Hockey's Club of the Year

Hockey New Zealand last night held their annual awards in Auckland, and after being nominated as one of three finalists, the club was named Club of the Year! Club President Caleb Ballin along with committee members Pat Barwick and Miranda Ballin attended the evening and accepted the award on behalf of the club. A fantastic achievement and a huge thanks to everyone involved in the club for making this happen! We are immensely proud.

REDDOS RESULTS AND FIXTURES - 30 April - 4 May

ROUND 3 - Wednesday Wrap. Another strong showing from the club, with the Porritt Cup back in the cabinet for the Premier Women, and the Div 1 Men and Super League Women continuing their unbeaten starts to the season. We look forward to our Platinum and Kwikstick 11aside teams getting underway this weekend.

6 aside tournament Junior girls

Joint Junior Club Captain Lisa Langridge spent two amazing days out at Nunweek at the 6aside hockey tournament,  this week with these lovely ladies. Some hadn't met before, but all played really well and worked together.  They fought hard, tried not to pass out in the heat and played Uno between games and practices.

Platinum Mens Team Announcement

Congratulations to the follow players selection for the Carlton Redcliffs Platinum Mens team. There were some great efforts in the trial and there is a pleasing level of skill and experience across the group. The team will be coaches by Lee Munt and Andrew Van der Bent, both experienced and skilled coaches and Reddos

Platinum Women Teams Announcement

Thank you to everyone who trialled. There is great depth in this grade which made our selection of the 2 squads very difficult. Everyone gave it their all it is a very competitive group with a pleasing level of skill across the entire group.

Reddos Goal Keepers George Enersen session

It seems to be a the order of the day that whenever George Enersen offers to do a Goalkeeper session we end up with a really warm Canterbury day. Monday night didn't disappoint, as our Goalies kitted up in summer temps. We are very grateful to George who willingly makes himself available and shares his knowledge with our Goalies.

Super Sunday League Men and Womens Teams Announced

Teams announced for the Women's and Men's teams who will compete in the new Sunday Super League competition, which replaces the old Div 2 grade. These teams will be coached by our Southland Super Coaches Adam Hillis (Men) & Lydia Shirley (Women), with Martin Baker coaching alongside Lydia while also providing translations of the Southern accent when required.

Div 1 Women's Team Named 2021

Division 1 Women for 2021. A new coaching setup led by the vastly experienced Andrew Hastie, the team are coming off a well deserved third placing in 2020 and will seek to push themselves up the ladder again this year.

Div 1 Mens Team Named for 2021

Division 1 Men's Team Named for 2021. Dean Munt, our 2020 Senior Club Coach of the Year is once again at the helm, the only way to guarantee himself selection as a player. He is once again ably assisted by Tanyia Legge, who is just gunning to be manager of the year within her own household. 12 of last year's winning team return, as the two time defending champions look to make it three straight titles this season.

Further Training session - Division 1 Women's Team

After further discussions with the selectors we have decided to hold a full and final training on Tuesday. As noted during the week and yesterday we intended to name the final squad today but we are not in a position to do so. However, the Division 1 team will 100% be named on Wednesday.  For a number of reasons this has been a very difficult process which we will note on Tuesday.
