The Platinum grade is an exciting grade focusing on developing players from school year 9 to under 18 years of age, in readiness for competition against older, stronger players in division 2 upwards. The platinum grade is a pathway for players striving for future honours but this grade also caters for those wishing to play for enjoyment, be challenged and play alongside their peers. CHA have implemented a regulation that all school year 9 and 10 students must play in Platinum grade.

In 2023 we haD 3 women's teams and 1 men's team. Men play on a Monday night and Women play on a Tuesday night. These teams do not have a practice. The mid week open grade is fast becoming a fantastic competitive option for players who love playing hockey, keen to commit to play mid week, enjoy an enthusiastic and encouraging playing environment without the commitment of trainings, yet still have a competitive edge. MWO has over the years been a social grade and we still want to create the opportunity for this alongside offering to meet the need and growing interest, from a range of ages and experience, speed and skill level, the Mid Week Open space is shifting to offer a more competitive option and this will depend on interest and numbers.
The Club is focus is to build the leadership and coaching support in the Mid Week open space and has scheduled a MWO muster evening for all interested players. Year 11 and above are able to play in MId Week Open teams. CHA Rules state "Year 9 and 10 players cannot be registered in this division; furthermore, Year 9 players cannot play in this division."
Umpiring:
Best practice is to turn up 15 minutes prior and have a quick chat with the other umpire. Umpires will need to bring a whistle etc, but there should be a jacket at each venue to wear.
Failure to attend - CHA have a one strike rule - if we miss a game we get a warning but following that we get fined (@$200), and this is passed onto the team who missed their game.
