Carlton Redcliffs Hockey - Presidents update

Published Tue 19 May 2020

Hi team,

I trust everyone is starting to ramp back into some sense of normalcy after our 8 week lock down. I know my girls have been keen to see their friends and are itching to play some hockey again!

A couple of key items in this update:

  1. New president !
  2. Senior training underway
  3. 25 May - the next big announcement
  4. Our junior season

New president

At our committee meeting last night Pat Barwick officially handed over the presidents reins to me! Pat has been an amazing leader within our club for a long time. I will be working hard to try and fill her shoes. We are going to be sure to mark her contribution at the right time. Pat is going to now focus on Coaching coordination and development within our club. I’ll also give a bit of a speel about me and background with the club over the next couple of months.

Senior Training underway this week

Great news…. we have been allocated 8 training slots from the CHA to allow us to commence trainings within the senior club (CPL down to Platinum grades). Pat will touch base with all the senior coaches to discuss training slots etc.

The key thing we need is for each player and coach to familiarise themselves with the Covid requirements from CHA. Please see the link on our website.

25 May – Next big announcement

We are hopeful that the government will increase the 10 person social gathering numbers to allow sport to recommence! Lets wait and see…..

Our junior season

As soon as we have some clarity on turf availability and an increase to the social gatherings limit we will be able to plan for a restart with some certainty. Ideally we would like to hold our academy prior to the season starting proper.

Onwards and upwards

Kind Regards,

Caleb Ballin

President
