KEEP IT POSITIVE CAMPAIGN - Sport Canterbury and CHA Campaign -

CHA will be supporting Sport Canterbury’s ‘Let’s Keep it Positive’ campaign at different turfs, so we can collectively take a stand to help make our sport a place we all want to be. This is targeted at players, coaches and our supporter’s behaviours. Below are the details on how we would like you to be involved with this and to help keep it positive.
Different clubs are rostered onto different weekends and Carlton will be supporting this programme at our St Andrew's venue on 24th July 8:30am-11:30am.

As a community, we recognise that aspects of a sporting environment have the potential to change a young person’s perspective on being active – for a lifetime.

At its best, sport is a source of balance, fun and friendship.  Sports Canterbury as the Regional Sports Trust for the Canterbury West Coast region, our team actively gathers insights from our communities, to understand barriers to being active and participating in sport.

“We know that play, physical activity, sport and recreation add value to our lives in terms of social connections, emotional wellbeing and mental health – not to mention physical fitness.”  Sport Canterbury Chief Executive Julyan Falloon

Clubs will provide 2-4 "Keep it Positive volunteers" at turfs at any one time. ( Either the same people for 3 hours or different set of people for 1 hour each).
The Keep it Positive campaign is looking to recognise the following types of behaviours:
- positive umpire support
- supporting injured players
- supporting upset players
- thankfulness to coaches, supporters, umpires, players
- embracing parent support
- high fives
- humbleness
- camaraderie
