CHA Team Update and Opportunity


After being approached for an exciting job opportunity, our current Officials Development Officer – Campbell Ross – has reluctantly advised he is moving on from the CHA Whānau.

However, this has created an exciting opportunity to join our great team!

 

*** CHA Officials Development Officer Position ***

This role centres around and focuses on our community of umpires and technical officials, providing leadership and structure for our volunteer and venue/turf supervisor team to help best deliver hockey to our community. You’ll have the opportunity to continue to create and develop our Officials Pathway Programme to provide developmental opportunities, resources and initiatives to ensure our officials have the ability to perform and officiate at all levels, from Fun Sticks to Representative.

If you are interested in umpiring Junior Kwik Sticks Hockey for Canterbury Hockey during the 2022, registration is now open for the winter season!

Under 18 Trials

Trial Dates & Times:
5 May - 6:00-8:30pm
12 May - 6:00-8:30pm

Venue: Nga Puna Wai

Players being considered must be under the age of 18 as of January 1st 2022 and must also be 15 or over as of January 1st 2022. They must also be registered participants of Canterbury Hockey who live or school within the Associations boundaries.

Please note, in order to be considered for selection athletes must also be available to participate in the National U18 Tournaments from July 10-16.

Registrations close 28 April 2022.

Canterbury Hockey will be running practical coaching workshops for our club and school coaches throughout the early parts of the season.


Defensive Principles Coaching Workshop - 1st May

Target Audience: All open grade and youth/secondary coaches

PlayHQ Registrations Open

Canterbury Hockey in partnership with Hockey New Zealand are moving to a new membership management system named PlayHQ. We require all players and coaches to create a membership account and then register this account to your club for the 2022 season.

Registration is now open for all Junior and Youth Players and Coaches.


To create a PlayHQ account please CLICK HERE 

Once you have created your PlayHQ membership account please search for your Club on the PlayHQ home page FOUND HERE and register yourself (or your child) with your Club. If you are wanting to register your child, please use your details as the Caregiver to create an account and then subsequently add your child/ren to your account.

If you hold multiple roles within your club such as a player and a coach, you will need to register both of these with your club.

To help with the administration process please complete your registration by Sunday the 1st of May at the very latest.
