Jeremy Symonds was unanimously awarded a Honorary Life Membership at this years AGM; below is a synopsis of the citation read out at the AGM A strong passionate supporter, player, coach and committee member of Carlton Redcliffs. This nominee has put in a huge amount of time and effort into the sport of hockey. A Canterbury Cavaliers Representative player, Canterbury Senior Men's player and representative player throughout primary and secondary school. This nominee has played the majority of his hockey for Carlton Redcliffs and Shirley Boys High School, as well as being part of the Redcliffs Primary School hockey training machine in his earlier playing days. He has played and captained the Reddos Premier men's team prior to stepping up to coach this team since 2009. During his time coaching the CPL Men's team they have had 7 final spots over 9 years; he is recognised as a strong developer of male hockey players and promotes an ethos within his squads of professionalism both on and off the field and a strong desire to prepare well for each season. Winner of the Hefford Trophy in 2005, the club has recognised his coaching successes with being the recipient of the John Schoeman Trophy for Coach of the year a total of five times since its inception. Alongside this Jeremy has also been a committee member since 2003 and currently holds the position of Vice President an honour on its own. Jeremy's nomination was unanimously accepted - the club and members congratulate Jeremy on this achievement.
